Processes
Our sorting process is structured in several stages. Every day we process approx. 40 tons of used textiles in one shift operation, where we produce up to 200 articles. The individual working steps are controlled and supported by the management. As a certified company, it is quite natural to ensure a smooth operation and a consistent quality of the produced products.
Incomming Goods
Firstly, the process starts with the unloading of the trucks. The truck is weighed by using a calibrated scale. The goods are manually filled in provided boxes and separated from obvious interfering substances.
These data are recorded in the IT-system and enable the traceability of the origin and quality of the goods.
Pre-Sorting
Pre-sorting takes place at 18 tables. At this stage, products which are suitable for reuse are pre-sorted in about 40 categories. In so doing, the sorter assesses the quality and decides on their usability. All other items are already sorted for recycling, which are then directly pressed.
Fine-Sorting
Considering various criteria such as quality, type of material, fashionable aspects, the articles are dedicated to their further destination. Of course, customer requirements play an important role. Overall, we create about 25 further grades, so we can offer a large product range of about 200 articles.
Packing
After sorting, the products are packed in bags or pressed into bales depending on the quality.
• Plastic Bags (10-30kg)
• Big Bags (50-100kg)
• Small Bales (40-110kg and number of pieces)
• Large Bales (400-500kg) for recycling qualities
All bales and sacks are labeled with the content, weight (and, if applicable, with the number of pieces). IT-system supports warehouse management.
Outcoming Goods
Loading takes place directly from our warehouse by a forklift truck or for smaller units by hand. We can load the following standard transport units:
• Shipping Containers
• Truck
• Small Transporter
The loading is carried out according to the order and loading list, which are reconciled with the weight of the transport units. This documentation also forms the basis for billing and stock changes.

Structure and Employees
Part of a greater whole
The advantages of an international company organization to be strongly positioned on a regional level, is what distinguishes us.
In this context, professional exchange and “best practice” is a key issue. Potential capacity bottlenecks of individual units are balanced within the Boer Group.
The decentralized structure of the Boer Group enables the sorting companies to respond to customer requirements in a manner that is adequate and flexible to their needs.
Near transport distances through the companies located in the region save CO2 emissions.
Who is the Boer Group?
Boer Group is an international recycling organization with collecting- and sorting companies for used textiles and shoes. The family business started over a 100 years ago by collecting paper, metal and textiles and eventually continued with textiles only.
Our sorting companies grade the collected textiles in about 350 articles spread across 3-5 qualities. After this extensive sorting process every piece of textile finds its way to resellers or recycling companies worldwide.
Boer Group’s companies are situated in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany and offer collection and sorting services together with local partners in Western Europe.
To contribute to circular textile industry Boer Group founded Boer Group Recycling Solutions in 2015 to support promising research projects on innovative textile recycling methods. Goal is to change textiles from being the one-time recyclable waste stream it is nowadays into a circular raw material.
Associatons
With its subsidiaries, Boer Group is involved in various professional associations, whose competence is the collection, sorting and recycling of used textiles and are therefore competent contacts for municipalities, politics and institutions.
